Re: MSX Inbound!!
Awesome! I went down the "DIY" path to get an MSX. Built an Omega open source "clone". It's been hilarious loading games in off tape so far. I just ordered the PCB for a FDD cartridge (The project is here . I'm not the creator) After that, it'll be time to get a cartridge for it...

Re: New open source 68000 accelerator for Amiga
I think you're being harsh. Sorry, that wasn't my intention. The opinion was purely from a personal perspective, but depending on configuration it can obviously be useful to other users. Like this one: This one is for use with A500's GVP HD8+ expansion and IDE is not a wanted with this compo. I alr...

Re: New open source 68000 accelerator for Amiga
The problem I have with it is that it doesn't seem very useful. It's a nice speed bump, but with just 1MB of memory and no IDE, you're still more or less limited to running games from floppy/Gotek.
For €60 you should also be able to build one of these:

Re: Pushing my 030 to its limits
8bit dreams on another forum mentioned a stress tester for 020, 030.060 CPUs, and there are tests for CPUs with or without FPU, this uses ray tracing and pushes the hardware to the limits and gives a result output at the end for your tests ...that's if your CPU is up for it lol link below https://m...

Re: Pushing my 030 to its limits
I'm not aware of any demos (or games) that are 030 that use an FPU. Doom is the standard 030 test. Thanks! I'm not a big Doom fan and never played Doom on the Amiga, but it was fun to try :) Weird thing is that if I could get Doom to run it seemed to be rock stable, but the Amiga will still frequen...

Pushing my 030 to its limits
I'm experimenting with running my 68EC030 @50Mhz. It seems stable for now, but I'm not really sure how hard I'm really pushing. It seems most demos are optimized for either running a stock A500 or a 060 running at highest possible speed. Any suggestions for demos that can really stress my 030? Prefe...

Re: SCART Cable recommendations?
I've mostly been happy with cables from coolnovelties.co.uk, they are affordable and quality is decent. You can also check with a.mi.goun at AmiBay, I bought some very high quality cables from him. He does mostly Amiga and Commodore 8-bit machines, but I've seen he has some Atari cables too and he h...

Re: Help, I just bought an Atari STE!
MonSTer STE is an excellent solution that adds 10MB of RAM and IDE on your STE. Couple that with 4MB on board and you will have a really cool STE. It also has a space for alternative TOS and you can add TOS 2.06 and EmuTOS (even the 512KB version). Also NetUSBee will give you a Network port and 2 U...

Re: Help, I just bought an Atari STE!
Probably start with a PSU re-cap, then as it's an STE you can check how much RAM is installed and upgrade up to 4MB by changing the SIMMs. Will do. I'm assuming it comes with the standard 512. My usual suggestions are to drop in either a Goex or Gotek to replace the floppy drive so you can use SD c...

Help, I just bought an Atari STE!
So I have had my Commodores and MSX machines, but I've always been curious about other retro systems in general and especially the Atari ones. Apart from a very brief ownership of a 1040STfm I've never owned or used anything Atari. So last night after a few beers I finally gave in and bought a 520ST...
