Re: External Floppy Drive Connector

Hi, Yeah, I can't really remember what was the problem. I think it was a power supply issue as I was using an external power supply. I also remember removing a jumper from the gotek leave just the S0 jumper selected. Not sure if that made things work or not. That's all I can remember. Sorry its a bi...

Re: ACSI2STM problems

Well the end of the story was that I had bought two fake STM32 blue boards and neither would work properly. So In the end I purchased another two bluepill boards from America via Amazon. These turned out to be genuine boards and worked straight away. I also purchased some STM32 ICs from RS component...

Re: Detecting Fake BluePills - BEWARE

I think that's what I'm gonna do from now on. I've just done my other genuine chip and soldered it onto one of the boards that didn't work and its now working as it should so again, must have been a suspect chip. Still doesn't detect it though when plugging usb in as a virtual serial port (linux) so...

Re: Detecting Fake BluePills - BEWARE

Got my fingers crossed for you rubber_jonnie hope they sort you out. I've not really had that much luck with paste either but I got a small tub of it from ebay (Chinese). When using it and applying heat to it it just balled up and didn't adhere to the pin pads on the board. So I had to resort to dra...

Re: Detecting Fake BluePills - BEWARE

Hi All, Along with recommendations on where to buy the genuine STM32's. Does anybody have a good link or can point me in the direction of where to buy decent leaded solder paste. Primarily for soldering these chips to the dodgy STM boards but also for other SMT work. Thanks in advance. Regards, Brett

Re: Detecting Fake BluePills - BEWARE

Just a quick update. The hiletgo boards that I got from America (link in my previous post) work flawlessly. They pass all the diagnostics and the blinky as well. I also swapped a chip on one of the boards that didn't work in my project. I bought some genuine chips from RS components and desoldered o...

Re: Detecting Fake BluePills - BEWARE

Well I'm pleased to announce that the blue pill boards I ordered from America turned up today and I loaded one of them with the bluepill diagnostics software as in my last post and it turns out that these pass all the tests including STM32F103C8T6 authentication. I had no problems connecting to it w...

Re: Detecting Fake BluePills - BEWARE

Hi All, I've just tried this (https://mecrisp-stellaris-folkdoc.sourceforge.io/bluepill-diags-v1.640.html) on my bluepill board that I sent to rubber_jonnie to test. I've also tried it on the spare one that I have here. The results of the bluepill I sent to rubber_jonnie to test are below. I run a l...

Re: Detecting Fake BluePills - BEWARE

@rubber_jonnie thats what I was wondering too but we will try and see what happens I was wondering if I could do this with mine. Just get some REAL STM32 ICs from somewhere like RS components and swap them onto the PCB. As rubber_jonnie said, it just depends on if there are any changes in the PCB d...
