To be fair, A1200 and A600 PCBs are quite fragile.
So you need some experience to handle them properly.
More robust than you would think
A pile of boards used to test the TF1230, still have not found time to put them away :D

Re: Reasons a TF1230 (or any expansion card) may not work

Looks like a sticker or something was stuck on the board from the mask in the background and the track may have come away when it was removed. The new catch phrase "I'll just watch a Utube clip "easy peasy  "", we now have so called experts presenting content after watching another so called e...

Re: TF1230 Beta Interest (Open Source)

Very nice tutorial @supaduper, if you wish to keep the workbench.library on the ROM in 31 this can be achieved by using the extended ROM method on a A1200.

Re: TF1230 Beta Interest (Open Source)

I have had no issues with 31 custom ROMs with the eide.device added to the ROM

Re: TF1230 Beta Interest (Open Source)

MT48LC16M16A2P-6A-G installed, rock solid for many hours of testing on a 1D4 and 2B (31 and all types of ROMs). Also tested on a 1D1 for a short while with no issues.

Re: TF1230 Beta Interest (Open Source)

Found the 1D1, did a quick test with mask, eeprom and custom ROM sets. Booted and worked with both A1200 and TF1230 IDE's.
Was only a short test with each set of ROMS (31), as time was limited today.

Do you require any specific tests on the 1D1 motherboard were others have had issues :?:

Just a little update. So far as I can tell this is only not working on the Rev 1D1 now. Can other report their experiences good and bad.
I do have a 1D1 buried in a box somewhere, will try to find it and see how it goes.

Re: TF1230 Beta Interest (Open Source)

I Don’t suppose you could do a custom 3.2 Rom? Should not be a problem, I do not have 3.2, but if you just search for a tutorial on creating a custom Amiga ROM, it is a fairly easy task. You just need a eeprom programmer (something like a minipro with a 27C400 adapter) and a couple of blank 27C400 ...

Re: TF1230 Beta Interest (Open Source)

Just finished it and no time for a proper memory test yet but RC1 firmware flashed and it fired right up. Good to hear you have it up and running :) Just put together a custom 31 ROM with the eide.device included. Now the IDEs on the TF1230 & 1260 work straight-up no other boot device required. Not...

Re: Open Letter to the community...

I guess some individuals do not appreciate that this is simply just a hobby and the phrase "thank you" should be the response to any new development. :) The ugly 5%, I have had to deal with them in past commercial ventures, but their impact is now in all avenues of daily existence via modern technol...
