Re: BennehBoy's Bobbins

This MeGaLoDOS board arrived in the post today, I found it on a German forum -> https://www.forum64.de/index.php?thread/98865-neues-projekt-megalodos/ Anyhow, what's nice about it is that it can be configured to operate as just about any of the 1541 drive speeders that ever came out, there's a nice ...

Re: 27C400 EPROM emulators (beta) issue D technical discussion

Apols for the thread resurrection! There's been mention of using these in 8bit machines, I'm quite interested in trying to get one of mine working in a c64, I have a desire to be able to easily switch between ~ 16 kernels, and rather than come up with some hackery using a 27c020 & an Arduino/stm...

Re: Stuff and Things.

I should probably sell my other Beeb Master as I don't use it but parting with these things is always difficult  Did my A-Level Computer Science using one, and have very fond memories of it. I wrote a database system on it for the scratchcard round that I used to do for the local football team...

Re: Stuff and Things.

Beeb Masters seem to be going for silly money, would really like one but I'm not shelling out 500 quid for one. There are a few listed at around 200, but the photos show them to be right crusty affairs riddled with rust.

Re: BennehBoy's Bobbins

There's still something not quite right, whilst most disks work, anything with half decent copy protection fails. This _may_ just be an alignment issue, but I spent about 30 minutes getting it to where it is (very tiny rotations of the stepper motor adjust it, and just tightening up the screws can t...

Might be worth grabbing that copy of Elite, they seem to go for silly money online. EDIT, and maybe I should read posts more closely :D

Re: BennehBoy's Bobbins

A few posts back there was a photo of the 1571 I had purchased. Perched on top of that was a new spindle motor for the final 1541 that I had not managed to get fully working. I fitted that new motor last night and the very low spindle speed (which would not adjust) is now sorted. Unfortunately altho...

Yeah the SD2IEC is not cycle exact, U1541II+ is, and I think pi1541 either is cycle exact or very close. Anything that uploads code to the 1541 to be executed won't work on an SD2IEC, and the demo loads almost all did that for their fastloader code.
