Re: TF536 boot problem
The rainbow is normal and the black screen is normal until Workbench appears. Does the SD/CF activity light blink? Does it enter the boot menu if you hold both mouse buttons while turning on (hold until several seconds after the rainbow)? It can take a very long time to boot if the SD/CF isn't setup...

Re: Noob building a TF534
Itty bitty mouse adapter. I don't have the SSOP20 PIC but it should work as the TSOP18 package version worked.

Re: My TF536 runs at 42.7 MHz with a 100 MHz oscillator.
I got new 100 MHz oscillators today and immediately replaced the one on this TF536 and now it's running at 50. So that confirms that Digikey sent me the wrong components in the first place.

Re: My first TF536
I made my own relocator this morning just for fun. It uses recessed female headers for the output socket to ensure the acccelerator sits lower. The female headers sit just to the left of the Kickstart ROM with about 1 mm clearance. It turned out pretty nice for a DIY circuit board. I didn't have any...

Re: Terriblefire State of the Union....
I make money from my designs. They are on a page where people can buy them. Money tricles in without me doing anything after I have finished them an upoaded. I upadte with changes and improvements off course, but at my own leisure. If I designed a complex PCB I would put it up on a site that sells P...

Re: Noob building a TF534
Here's as small as I can make it with a SOP18 package (1,27 mm pitch). I also centered the USB and D-sub.
Today I redesigned it for SSOP20 (0,65 mm pitch) and made it a lot smaller again. I haven't cut that out yet but it's fun to optimize circuits.

Re: Noob building a TF534
I optimized the design to make it as small as practically possible. Ended up with a mirrored USB connector but I fixed taht after the photo was taken. Ready to mill another one now. lol The USB is soldered to the surface on the other side, with the housing tabs through the oval slots. PS2-03.jpg Sin...

Re: Noob building a TF534
I designed a circuit for a PIC16F628 SMD chip PS2 mouse adapter and CNC-milled it. PS2-00.jpg The PCB has a 0,1 uF decoupling cap on the bottom. Two sided CB milling went fine by aligning by aiming the tip on a via. What looks like rough finish aroudn the traces is reflections. PS2-01.jpg It worked ...

Re: Terriblefire State of the Union....
I've seen people sell copies of my designs on Ebay. Ebay doesn't do anything about it and the person didn't care when I asked him to take them down. Shitty things are gonna happen no matter what.
