After probably way too long I realized my issue was I hadn't jumpered JP16
So finally a Gembench shot to go with everyone else's!

Re: DaveC's H5 C1 Build
Tested 1.44MB GAL that all appears good.
Added a 64 pin socket and tried adding a 206 TOS decoder. Hooked up to ROM CE pad I get this, pretty much the same if I just leave it unattached/unjumpered.
Also seems to push itself out of the socket. If I jumper the GLUE and ROM CE, it'll boot as long as I keep applying enough pressure to the decoder, soon as I stop holding it down a varying amount of bombs appear on the screen.

Re: DaveC's H5 C1 Build
Can you take a image of the decoder and motherboard socket to illustrate the problem..

Re: DaveC's H5 C1 Build
This is how the ROM CE is attached.
Difference is subtle between these two.

Re: DaveC's H5 C1 Build
It looks like you are not fully inserting the board into the socket ? and also looks like you have some bent pins. So if you force it you will likely break them. You need to straighten the pins so they align with the socket so you can insert it properly.

Re: DaveC's H5 C1 Build
Ok all good, generally if I'm applying that much force to stuff I assume something is going to end up broken
Re: DaveC's H5 C1 Build
Thought I'd add a few switches so less fiddling around with jumpers.
Nice easy A/B floppy swap.
And a 4 way 4Mb/2Mb/1Mb/512k switch.
Bugger, they're not actually double row pins for the memory lines. Though not too difficult to rectify that issue.
Oh and running YAART on the off chance it causes issues

Re: DaveC's H5 C1 Build
Awaiting something to arrive tomorrow, adding the socket on top of the decoder looks like the best way to fit things in.
