Hi,
my first computer in 1982 was a 16K ZX Spectrum. In 83(84?) I bought an Acorn Electron which was on clearance sale for 20.-DM.
Those machines started my interest in machine language because of their limitations and are responsible for my later career in computer science. In 1987 I got one of the first MegaST 2 without Blitter since the chip was not finished yet. Some time later, during my university time, I switched to PCs. I rediscovered my ATARI around 1998 and started buying all the machines I couldn't afford back when.
Around this time, I also got some parts of the NOVA source code (under NDA) and started investigating. It took me until about 2005 before I was able to get things compiled and was able release new versions.
I also was in contact with Alison Challis during those years, which motivated me later to fund a run of the PeST adapters (produced by Exxos) after her tragic accident.
Since I make my living with programming (on mainframes!), I don't always find the time (or motivation) to work on ATARI stuff. This is especially true during the warmer months when I am more inclined to do some (mostly off-road) motorcycling.
Anyhow, I have been reading here for a while and finally decided to register to be able to ask stupid questions.
Cheers,
Wolfgang

Re: Hello from Germany
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.
