Hello from germany

Post by Markus608 »

Hello everyone and greetings from germany,

Finally it worked for me as well to get access to your forum...

A few weeks ago i somehow found my way back to Atari computers. To be a little more precise, i like the Mega ST very much.
When i found my Mega STs still working perfectly, i started upgrading with TOS 2.06, Alt-RAM, IDE and USB. A Grapics-card (ET4000) was next to be installed. I couldn`t believe that the old machine was still workin fine, even with the new upgrade installed.
Of course, just as years ago, the wish for more speed came up. It seems that the Terrible Fire cards are the only accelerators that are available today.

So i have got a TF534 and a TF536. I reflashed the TF536 on my own with the firmware found on your great forum. And yesterday the TF536 is running now in my Mega ST.
There are minor problems that i will come forward with when i tried to solve the problems by myself. Hopefully it is only a wrong bootorder or similar things that may be solved easily.

If i'm right there is a Thread concerning hardware compatibility with TF536.
For sure i can enter there that "cloudy", "Storm ST", "Lightning ST" and STGA-ET4000 are running fine with the TF-card. Just USB refuses to work at the moment.

I hope some day i can give something back to the community.

I'm looking forward to share my little experience with you...

have a nice evening

Markus

Just because a lot of people agree on something, doesn't make it a fact. ~exxos ~
People should find solutions to problems, not find problems with solutions.
