Well, work stuff has been very complicated lately, but hopefully soon it'll be more normal, so time to get back to my outstanding projects.

After my last unsuccessful attempts to hot air solder, I decided to buy some pre made solder syringes in the hope I have more success than when trying to load my own.

They came today, so fingers crossed I can get soldering pretty soon, as I still have this RAM upgrade to do, plus a NetUSBee to build.

Wish me luck!

Yep, pre made. Wether or not they are any good, time will tell, I guess we'll find out fairly soon!

I originally bought solder paste and syringes separately, but it wasn't really working out.

Yeah that's how I use it. I thought that's what you had RJ? Gotta be a pain filling the syringes up otherwise.
If it ain't broke, test it to Destruction.

Yeah, I tried to do it on the cheap, buying my own syringes and paste, turned out to be a bad idea, who knew :)

Can't recommend doing it that way, though I may try the self loading route again just for a laugh at some point in the future, be a shame to waste it.

I've got pots of paste from several years ago still pending with the same logic ;)

Still some work to do, and a bit of a faff so far, but I'll take any progress right now.

I did a video way back of this job. It was a nightmare and those SOJ chips never stayed soldered down properly. :/
