I have one of the above main boards with 512k ram and space for the extra 512k to make 1mb but is there any option to get the 4mb ram upgrade fit as the mmu is soldered to the main board not in a socket so cant plug in the adapter.
are there any sockets about that i can get and remove the mmu and fit and then plug the mmu back in to the adapter board will fit or is there any other way like getting a socket and soldering it to the adapter board and fitting the socket over the mmu like they do with the amiga 600 and 1200s?
really would like to get this to 4mb.

If you look around I think there are RAM upgrades which have bodge wires and the RAM on the shifter board instead. You do look for one of those or just get a easier MB board to work with..

I also have a C103414-001 PCB and upgraded it to 4 MB of RAM, you need good soldering skills to perform the mod. This board has 512kb in 4x 4 bit DRAM’s, those need to be removed.

Now, solder in 8x 4 bit 1 mb SOJ DRAM’s. Address line 9 (MAD9) is not connected, pin 5 is address line 9, these pins need to be connected on both memory banks. Solder a 33 ohm resistor to pin 64 of the GLUE chip, connect both wires together and solder to the other end of the resistor. Gives 4 mb of RAM.
My collection: 1040 STE, TOS 2.06, 4 mb, CosmosEx - 520 STFM, TOS 1.04, 4 mb, Blitter, CosmosEx - 520 STFM, TOS 1.04, 4 mb - 1040 STF, TOS 1.04, 1 mb, Gotek - Amiga 1200 with Blizzard 1220/4 - Amiga 500 + ACA500 - Amiga 500 + TF530, 1 mb chipram hack.

Atari 8 bit: 800XLF, stock - 600XL, Ultimate 1 mb, Sophia RGB - 130XE, 320 kb, Sophia RGB

Sinclair stuff: 3x Spectrum 48KB, Clones: Harlequin, JS128, Nuvo128 and Issue3B replica.

Ultimate64, a few C64 breadbins and Pi1541 for storage.
