30pin 1meg SIPP RAM for a 286

Post by Gordo »

Hello I know this is an Atari based fourm... I do have a 1040STF. Anyway I'm trying to track down some 1 meg 30pin SIPP RAM for an old 286 computer. It seems some STs use similar RAM. Is there and easy way to mod the header to fit the 30 pin hole sockets? Any help would be great.

See my 286 motherboard pic below.

Just solder headers on a simm. It's what I used to do.

Ok great. So the 4MB STE RAM SET (4x1MB 30 pin simms) that you sell would work along with finding some headers to solder?

The idea would work yes, generally these headers would work https://www.exxosforum.co.uk/atari/store2/#0132 Where you would solder the thicker pins on the simm.

As to if they will work in your computer or not I really cannot say. It depends how fussy they are with memory, of course there will be no way for us to know this with your motherboard.
