It's only an Ultra 24... Basically an MSI motherboard in a Bechtalsheim styled case. :-)
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

I actually bought it because I like the case :P. but yes you are right. I'm not so much into the likes of Ultra 5s or 10s anymore and wanted this to be a useable day to day computer with linux and some large HDDs in it.

If you can find one, the Ultra 40 is the best x64 machine, a true Bechtalsheim design. Managed airflow with a transparent inner case side inside so that you can show off the goodies but keep the airflow good. Mechanical design reminiscent of the best of Apple's.

They are a nice specc'ed computer but at least 5 or 6 times what I paid for this one.

Just putting Ubuntu on it now as I may end up using it for my C++ programming amongst other stuff.

So the Ultra 24 is up and running( am using it right now). Got a couple of things to get for it, like another caddy and some extra ram. The max ram on this is only 8GB and currently I have 4GB fitted. So off to ebay I went and doubled my ram for £4 including postage. Not very often you can say that these days :D

Some "person" is trying to flog an Ultra 24 for £900 on eBay. They were nowhere near that much when new.

Ouch, that's ridiculous. There's some much better Ultras on ebay for way less than that.
