Anyway, it looks like the magnetic bed has already cracked. I removed the original build plate and fitted a "better" one. I also had to move the display forward to little bit because the X-axis was also sticking out further than it was originally.

Around and around we go, where she stopped, nobody knows, but probably in about 30 seconds time  :fire: :fire: :fire: :hide:

This is 151mm/sec with 800 accel.

I am seeing some odd banding which I'm not sure where it is coming from currently. It is not relating to the speed as I have slowed it back down the problem is still there. Though am printing "inside out" so I'm going to try "outside in" as it may well solve the outside edge problem anyway.

EDIT:

The banding looks like it was mostly due to the cooling fan was turned off totally. I turned it on about halfway, and the top half of the print is a lot better now!

Being experimenting with various settings the past couple of days. Mostly I found slow acceleration of about 200 creates this mess as shown below..

So now working on the principle of 8000mm/min print speed and 1600 acceleration. Basically the acceleration being x10 less, then doubled

Things are definitely looking a lot better with those settings.

Also been trying to reduce the Z-seam but not having much luck. It is difficult to work out exactly where the line stops and ends.

Tried every possible option known to mankind without any success. However, I just went to random start points and this worked a lot better than I thought it would. The actual starts are barely noticeable.

So I may tinker around with settings to see if I can get it any better or not.

Benchy turned out not to shabby. I think there is a x-axis problem somewhere as there is some banding and sides of objects don't look as good as they could do.

The x-axis linear rail doesn't seem to slide freely. In fact the Yaxis isn't smooth either. Though I think the bottom runners are not totally straight. Anyway, the xaxis seems smooth until I tighten the belt up. But oddly I've noticed when I tighten the head assembly on the rail bearing, it makes things worse. So I think the bracket might be slightly out, enough to bend the bearing plate causing it to not run smooth.

As for the belt causing issues, I'm working on a new belt clamp as the one I bodged in off my i3 seems to be bending upwards which could be touching the extrusion bar.

There isn't much else I can really do with this printer without rebuilding the entire top section. Which I just don't have the time or patience for. But I hope it will be accurate enough to print the dummy CPU squares for the STE boosters.

After all that is done, I will go back to my flash forge printer. I've just been put off having the bed moving on the y-axis. I seem to have nothing but problems with that concept. On the FF the bed moves on the z-axis and the head moves on x and y . At least the print itself isn't being swung about on the bed which I think isn't helping with banding issues.

Ah the joys of direct drive extruders.

You're either getting your filament stuck somewhere, trying to over extrude or the tensioning is wrong. They can be a burglar to get right.
If it ain't broke, test it to Destruction.

I think its because its getting to the end of the spool. Its all bent going into the extruder and assume that's why its slipping.

I'm going to oder a bearing holder later as the spool keeps jerking which likely isn't helping either.
