Looks well nice!

Thought it was a bit decadent when I purchased it, but really glad I did now. Really nice construction and substantial feeling:

I was watching a youtube video about the OSSC setup and discovered that the firmware updated 3 weeks after I bought the unit over a year ago.

Bloody typical that, mine is on .85a, but I have had it quite a while. Mine came with a perspex case, but the one you have looks great.

I think the new v1.7 OSSC comes with this case.

This is my old one which I've cleaned and put in the plastic wallets the new one came in:

Looks very like it, except the plastic is clear on mine.

You'll be able to see the nice OSSC cutout through the top piece.

A bit, but the top layer is actually frosted looking at it just now, so it's fuzzy.

Ah, but yeah. Can't recommend the new case enough. 8-)

Finally got a replacement CRT!

Post by Cosmic Puppet »

This came yesterday:

I can't show it working because I can't take a photo when it's all plugged into my phone.

I'm using these adapters:

I previously used these adapters:

I found that the Startech C to HDMI would randomly drop out completely. While the HDMI to SCART one creates this static burst of audio when switched on that is deafening. Also the last CRT broke so Pidgeon superstition an' all.

Funny thing is that on the CPC site the HDMI to SCART that I use now is cheaper than the one they have that looks like the amazon one.

The amazon one gives a tiny bit better picture and has cool multi-coloured bars on the screen when the phone isn't connected but seems more flakey.

Here is the inners of that one:

Having seen the inners of the HDMI to SCART converter does anyone know of a way of obtaining slightly higher quality?

Was bloody awesome watching the original blade runner on a CRT. Been watching the new one on it too.
