UK Postal problems

Post by rubber_jonnie »

Just wondering if anybody else in the UK is having problems with the post?

We seem to get really random deliveries here in Essex at the moment, stuff came Monday to Wednesday last week, then nothing after, not even a sign of the postie, and nothing today, and I am expecting post.

I suppose I shouldn't moan, as there are folks in Chelmsford who had no post for 3 weeks, but it does seem really quite bad ATM and I can't fix stuff if I never get the parts!!

Ho hum

I think is just down to staff shortages. Not been too bad here in Glasgow but things are definitely taking longer than usual.

Been having a trawl round several local FB groups just now and several posties are coning on and saying just that. Just seems particularly bad around here ATM, and frustrating because of the parts I'm waiting on.

Also remember they lay off people after xmas (or just have them for the xmas rush). So its probably a double whammy.

That's true, so may not be helping either, though you'd think if they were struggling anyway, they'd keep those people on.

Yeah, we've had no post at work since last Wednesday I think.
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

In here Saturday bus service on some lines, trains cancelled, postman delivering post every second day etc.... still better than during lockdown last year.

It's definitely got worse here since Christmas, and trains also getting cancelled out here, lots of complaining about that on the local FB groups.

Lockdown was actually better than now.

Couriers are fine, just not the Royal Mail. It does seem covid has caused a lot of issues for them of late.
