You are comparing your machine to a STE (has blitter) to your machine which with the blitter disabled. So of course you will get strange results. As I keep saying, read how to use GB6.

Although you have TOS206 installed, your machine should be compared to a stock STFM which the Mega is based on.

The test file is STFM1048 - STFM TOS 104 @ 8mhz (stock machine)

This will show you how improved from stock your system is running.

As @exxos mentions you are comparing with the default test file which is a stock STE DEFAULT - STE TOS 206 8mhz stock

If your Mega has a Blitter turn it on and then can see how it compares agains STFM stock and / or and STE stock.

Lastly a tip is that even if you have run the tests by loading a new test file the values will all be recalculated to show the difference you don't have to re-run the tests. This is handy if you want to quickly compare how your system compares to others.

You ACSI transfer speed is quite good. Is that a hard drive or modern SD card drive?

Yes I turned it on and reran the tests. Also did the HDD test with Blitter instead of PIO.

For the HDD I am using Alan H IDE interface and an 8GB card.

Looks like one of the original IDE interfaces which he produced. I have also got one of those and it works very well. I never got the later "Monster" variants to work despite having two or three of them

After those photos I know I changed out the Marpet 8MB board for his board. I need to open it up and take a new photo. I was very active 2013-2016 with my ST then silent until a few months ago when I could set it back up. Also built that special Mega case with my toys in it.
