I would not expect that to be able to handle anywhere near the required current, but maybe @exxos should take this one. 8-)
What package ? 1206 or larger should be fine anyway.

Just my two cents i would rather have a capacitor rated at 105c for 2000hr than any 85c capacitor at any hours

I've looked up the dimensions of a 1206 package and it's supposed to be 3.0 x 1.5 mm so the cap I found is even a little bit larger at 3.2 x 1.6 mm.

Here's the spec sheet by the way, if you're interested:

Yeah, I agree. These devices aren't going to run for that many hours anyway and better resiliency for the periods they will is much more important.

Just for reference, this is where I'll end up. I shopped a commercial picture of the ceramic cap into the photo, maybe it's even smaller in reality:

Measure the pad and also check around it see if anything will short it is close to the edge or put some masking on it to insulate it

Thanks for the advice. If all goes well, they'll be in the mail tomorrow. I might post a picture of the final result.

I just subscribed to ask wether there is a mouser-project or Shopping cart That you can Share with me because i startet to recap my 1084S-P1 this week.

I would really appreciate cause it is a pain to select all of the caps.

Thanks a lot.

I just buy a recap kit. Getting to deep into the brand of cap is heading for audiophile territory. You arent going to notice any difference beyond a point.

Main things to replace in a monitor are the bits that work hard. The transistors on the neck board, flyback and HOT. Using decent caps is worth it but mostly because they probably wont leak all over your board.

Fixating on ESR is not really worth it.

Randy Fromm is the guy i learned most of this stuff from. Unfortunately his best videos are gone.
