The annoyance when it turns out that one of the parts that arrived today wasn't the correct one:

Spot the empty space....

It is reading USB sticks though 😁

What’s the other part for?
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

It's a 74HCT74, a flip flop, and half of it seems to form part of the circuit feeding CLK to the AY chip. The other half is doing something else, but the schematics are not totally clear on what that is, though it does also seem to be CLK related.

Hmm, so looking further at the schematic, I clearly couldn't see the wood for the trees, the other half of the 74HCT74 is simply all tied to ground, so not in use.

Note to self: Sometimes stuff is just obvious, so don't over complicate!!

So, umm, do you have a definitive list of your computing collection? Or would that in itself be a huge feat? :D

Atari 800XL (Ultimate 1MB, VBXL & PokeyMax)
3x Atari 2600

Atari Lynx II (BenVenn Screen upgrade and SD card adapter)
CBM64 (Epyx FastLoad and SD2IEC)
QL (Gold Card, QL vDrive and dual FDDs)

ZX81 (ZXExpand+)
Apple ][e (FloppEmu, Mockingboard)
Apple Aluminium Powerbook G4 17"
Mac Classic
Mac Performa 6200
Oric Atmos (Erebus SD adapter)
NES (To be fair it's a clone)
SNES
Gamecube
Wii
Gameboy Advance
Original Nintendo DS
Nintendo DSi
Original Xbox
Xbox360
Gamepark GP32
Gamepark GP2x
Sony PSP
Epson HX-20 (Probably the first laptop)
SGI Octane

Amstrad Alt-386

Plus some peripherals like 2x Atari 1050 FDD, 2x Atari 1010 tape drive, Atari XC12 tape drive, CBM 1541 and various other odds and sods.

Not working:

Atari 600XL
2nd SGI Octane

At least that is what I can remember!! I count 54 in total :)

Watch out! Once you get the MSX bug it can be dangerous... There are *SO* many types of MSX and MSX2 machines out there, especially direct import from Japan.
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
