I've had my fingers crossed for so long now, I doubt I'll ever be able to use a pen again! :lol:

hehe.

Well, the chip's now here. It'll be a simple 2 minute job to swap them over as it's now socketed and I've not screwed the top on the C64.
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

Hehe. I'm not sure work would like that much, especially as my colleague is on holiday. :-)

Tell them (in true shareholder take over bid fashion) that they have been outvoted (i.e. by me and @rubber_jonnie) so to let you go home right now.

Well I've installed the new chip and...

There

Are...

No changes. It's just the same.

I'm leaning towards the conclusion that it's a "feature" of this particular motherboard revision.

There are hints on-line that the 74LS74 can cause colour issues, so one more roll of the dice...
