MIDI experts needed?

Post by Darklord »

Earlier I'd posted a request for some old software/disk:

https://www.exxosforum.co.uk/forum/viewt ... =50&t=4015

I was wondering if any of you MIDI experts out there could look at one of these files
and see how alike/different it is compared to an actual MIDI file.

My obvious goal is to try and get more titles that will work with the MUSICOMM
setup on my BBS.

Here is an example of the music files that MUSICOMM uses:
startrek.zip

Thanks.

PS Sorry I had to Zip it up - the board refused to accept it otherwise. :(

I checked and the file is totally different from a MIDI file.
This looks like a soundtracker file.
Working ones : MegaSTE (68020) / TT030 / Falcon with AB040 & Eclipse / 1040STF
Need testing : Falcon with CT2

Er no...it plays fine from my BBS using the MUSICOMM.ACC
desk accessory from any GEM based comms program like
Flash or STalker 3...

Did anyone look at the link I posted to the other message
thread? 20 of these songs came on an ST X-Press disk.

It's apparently something to do with Mikeytraxx? I would
love to find that disk and those songs, even if it turns out
that nothing can be done with the files or software to
make them compatible with MIDI...
