Here is the CA4003290 I just received:
Unknown if it works, but worth a punt, as I have all of the other components standing by.
Floppy controller is WDC1772 (Ajax would have been nice), DMA is 001A.
That being said, I don't believe the bad DMA myth, I just believe the ST ranges were built to a low price with the cheapest support components, leading to varied DMA performance depending on which chip was fitted and what day it came out of the factory!!
EDIT: 06/01/2018. The board runs fine, and has now formed the basis of my second 4160STE. At some point it will be Gotek'd, get dual TOS and maybe will get an Ultrasatan. It does need some TLC though, as one of the SIMM sockets has damaged retainers, though it does seem to run fine without.
