It may have more to do with where in the startup-sequence it is than anything else. The installer puts it in user-startup, I always move it right behind setpatch.

With 3.1.4.1, I have 0 reboots and my system is up in seconds (NODRIVELEDPATCH) .

TF534 is just made obsolete
TF536 is on hold just now (hopefully not forever)

So really you don't have much choice.

Ps. I am in the same place. Debating if I should build TF534 or "risk" and wait for TF536
Please explain that statement? Obsolete? What makes the Tf530 obsolete?? A500 was made obsolete in 1994???

Whats wrong with putting a Tf530 board in a A500?

These cards are experimental boards.

Buy a Witcher 500 if you want a simple A500 experience.

EDIT: if you pm him here you may be able to get it without ebay taking their cut.

Great. I'm planning to use a short IDE cable (10-15cm). Will I need the IDE buffers?

Thanks

15cm is a long cable. The answer is unknown at that length.

Chucky uses a TF360 with almost a 1M cable with no buffers. Other people say 5cm doesnt work.

Thanks for the info.

Is there any disadvantages to having the IDE buffers installed on the card?
