For some reason, the sources that sell Xilinx CPLDs have gone insane.
They increased the prices of the chips at least 5-fold.

This has the potential to kill our board building... I don't think I can afford to buy these in bulk at these prices. $300 CPLD?! This one used to be $36. WTF.

Unfortunately RS does not ship to North America, so I can't order from them. I suspect they will raise the prices soon too. What happened though? Pure greed now that they've become super popular?

060 mafia.
They create COVID-19 and break Stephens dishwasher.
They are trying to succeed in making TF1260/360 same price as legacy 060 accelerators
They don't want 060 for the masses

Re: Xilinx pricing gone crazy
288s are currently £28 on uk.farnell if that helps but that's more than I paid last time.
If it ain't broke, test it to Destruction.
Re: Xilinx pricing gone crazy
The only reasonable place for XC95144XL-10TQG144I is farnell but back order at the moment will be in on 29/6/2020, so I ordered some

Re: Xilinx pricing gone crazy
Can this be related with broken supply chains at this moment? Maybe it will go back to normal?

Re: TF 060 cards.
Looks like those CPLDs have not increased. Price for RAM CPLD is same as Stephen mentioned in January ~£32
Farnell UK have Bus and RAM CPLDs for £63.44 delivered.
If people think will be a concern is it worth builders taking a deposit to purchase the CPLDs?
Other option is individuals like myself buy the CPLDs then free issue them to a builder?
(is it still the case for RAM being a 6 and Bus CPLD being a 10?).
Just seems like we are so close with these 060 cards external forces are trying their up most to stop it! Anyone break a mirror recently (ah balls, I just remember I did!).

Re: Xilinx pricing gone crazy
The TF4060 design sitting waiting for me to be well enough to route has Lattice ICE404K FPGAs. It eliminates the bus multiplier and adds the possibility of doing more things in the FGPA. Its also stupid cheap. If this price keeps ramping up i'll switch the older designs over to Lattice. I just want to it done once to prove it.Higgy wrote: ↑Thu Apr 16, 2020 8:25 pm Re: TF 060 cards.

Those might be worth a punt. Even if only half work, it's a bargain.
