There is noticeable boot delay on A600
Donno what's causing it: onboard IDE or maybe PCMCIA, but it takes some seconds till A600 starts to boot from IDE, while A500 does it immediately..

Also tested 68EC020TK card - works perfectly on my A300, played Cannon Fodder for more than one hour without any issues :P

Hi 8 bit dreams,

Nice to here the 68EC020TK card works for you as well :D on a A300 .
The ICE SCRAPER from KLudge is the real winner.

Did you maybe try the TK030 version as well,I do not have one ?

I was thinking if I test a TF530 rev 3, and blank the RAM CPLD ,this should kill the IDE (and RAM) right ...
Currently the TF530 gives me only black screens

:blushing: It's a really dumb adapter :D

I think Stephen said that there's quite a bit of crosstalk between the CPLD's, so that might not work. Should be possible to try without damaging anything however. (Guessing)
A kludge is a workaround or quick-and-dirty solution that is clumsy, inelegant, inefficient, difficult to extend and hard to maintain.

The 530 will work ok with a blank Ram CPLD. The 534 is less happy.

Will give it a go tomorrow, im sure it will work, as 020 & 030 cards are pretty the same (use same oktagon rom)..

OK ,tried this on the TF530 ,but it did not work, still not booting to KS screen. :(

The behavior changed ,it now' constantly rebooting and shows a yellow screen,or reboots and shows some kind of red block on top of the screen, which I think is actual a corrupted software failure ,not sure?

i can confirm that TF530 wont boot in A600. yes probably its the GURU screen. i got it scrambled but a viewable picture of a crashed Guru, i dont remember though if it was in 7mhz mode or in my case 25mhz mode. i tried em all even if 7mhz arent suppose to work. i even located int2 on the A600 mobo and atached to the TF530. if someone need to solder INT2 for testings (other boards?) on A600 i spot it on a resistor. i think its the best place to solder a wire on. look at the right on the mobo locate U3 (8364R7pl) locate resistor R954B its to the right of the U3. solder a vire on the SMD resistors edge againts the serial etc. ports. i have checked this with multimeter i used christians pcbexplorer to find it. thanx kludge for the Adapter ! you Awseome!

i tried 5 different firmwares. the ones on github. also blanked RAM CPLD.

now im doing something i cant beleave. TF530 in A2000, VA2000 RTG autoconfiged, buddha IDE is autoconfiged, and what i did not expected. but a CBM zorro2 2mb board is autoconfiged. i havent tested all yet. but cards are detected. only VA2000 need drivers.

Thanks, and you're welcome. I really don't think I did much here. Granted I started it, gathered the information and routed the PCB, but all the important information for the (as of now) final solution came from others. TEAM EFFORT! :D

Regarding the compatibility with the TF cards, it's surely fixable in firmware as the adapter works with other cards and stand alone CPU's. The problem is figuring out where it goes wrong, as I think it could be anything from some IDE collision (doubtful according to Stephen) to timing issues. I don't have access to a good enough LA, so the best I could do is trial and error with custom testing firmwares.

If anyone with a decent LA would like an adapter to help figure out where it goes wrong, just let me know.

But as a concept for taking over from the A600 CPU this seems kind of complete now. I've been looking at possible mounting solutions using the hard drive mounting holes, but if I want to keep the adapter inside 10x10 cm I can only use the two leftmost holes, which means that the screws would be on the same side of the adapter. Might not work well.

I think I'll update the scematics and PCB so that the adapter works like the patched version. Without mounting holes. As a prototype/proof of concept. I think a separate PCB layout for TF on the A600 is a better option long term, but I think it would be wise to wait for a "final" version of the 53x line first to base this on. If that's the 534 or a version with SDRAM only time (and/or Stephen) can tell :)

Pardon for offtopic, but...
Budda ide, va2000 rtg (2mb autoconfig according to showconfig)
Va2000 can be flashed to do both 2 and 4 mb config.
The cbm 2mb board is derected as fastmem.and Seems to work.
Yesterday i copy files between buddha and tf530 ide:s in rtg resolution 800x600 8bit ;)

Now im just figuring out where my Fpu went becouse its all gone.
The latest TF530, firmware support fpu right?
This setup is runing with kickstart 3.1.4
It aint stable becouse i Think 3.1.4 or mmulibs screaming for fpu. I have the software failure #8000 0004 within the mmulibs install script. 3.1.4
