Thanks for the replies guys. I decided to check on the Pi. Weirdly, the Xilinx appeared blank when I connected it to the Raspberry Pi - I don't know how it could be since as I said I have booted and used this card before!

I reprogrammed it with October 1st beta and it now boots DiagROM as expected.

Finally found time to play with the TF1230s - here is my experience with "tf1230r1_2021_10_01_beta.zip" firmware:
All three cards are working without any problems on my 1D4 board now with stock MX 3.1 mask ROMs, (2x cards from previous builds with 64MB Micron RAMs, and 1x 128MB ISSI RAM suggested by Stephen), however I can use only SanDisk CF cards, Chinese White/blue 8GB CF hangs with LED on exactly as @kulamario pictured before... So this firmware definitely works, IDE is just picky about CF cards..

Has anyone come across anything weird like this?
I’ve got a hard drive connected to the ide port (ehide.device custom Rom) on my TF1230. When it’s connected to the ide on the motherboard there are no issues, when it’s connected to the TF all of the partitions are write protected.
Today I tried another drive, still write protected. Tried FFS and PFS3, tried a real hard drive, CF and SD but all the same.
Tried it on 2 different 1230’s. Works fine with my TF536

Thats an older version of ehide.device i think. Erique fixed that bug.

Maybe worth getting a thread for the ehide bugs. Since i have no control over them.

The latest version I have used is v1.1.
Might be an easier way, but I used Hex Edit in Dopus to see the version.

To find the version of a file in Amiga OS just use the VERSION command, I.E. `VERSION Devs:ehide.device`...will output the version

Confirmed …

`version full ehide.device` should return
> `IDE Driver 1.1 (18.6.21) Built on 18 Jun 2021 / 15:59:03 (d2874a8)`

Sorted :). I think the TF1230 is more or less done.

Hello,
I am interested in building my own TF1230 board, and after reading this whole post and others, I have two questions :
terriblefire wrote: Tue Aug 31, 2021 9:21 pm I'm planning a rev 2.
- is the hardware rev 2 still planned ?
terriblefire wrote: Wed Sep 15, 2021 8:18 am Well... unless there are any more bugs my 030 days are over. :)
- is there a developer continuing the firmware development ? since few additional features might be possible and useful : maprom, RAM at ranger addresses, timed reset to switch features.... My RAM board installed in my 1200 actually have these, and I sometimes use them to boot newer kikstarts or old titles. Even if it requires a 288 CPLD.

Last but not least : thank you sir for all what you have done
