Where did you get the SD2IDE adapter from? That looks interesting.

Re: Trudie - The Next IDE Board
Hi @exxos , just received a couple of SD2IDE cards & keen to try one with my TRUDIE...(the other is destined for my Falcon - for now at least!)
Does anybody have any information however brief about how to set one of these up? The (very limited) documentation with it suggests putting the SD card in it & formatting/partitioning it in the target system...
I too have HD Driver 11 now so I'm hoping to make time to try it at the weekend!
TIA
Jez
Re: Trudie - The Next IDE Board
@JezC ive used one in my H5 C1, don't use too big a card as it's a waste but then use HD11 exactly like you would a normal hard drive, partition, format, fill with stuff.
If it ain't broke, test it to Destruction.
Re: Trudie - The Next IDE Board
@PhilC Ok, great - I was thinking about something like a 2-8 Gig SD card...depending on what I can find lying around (I have lots of 16+ Gig cards but keep them for the phone/camera/MP3 player etc.)
Re: Trudie - The Next IDE Board
Has anyone tried Trudie with a CDROM ? I need to check it works fine before putting them into production.
EDIT:
Would have to be reading a text file off of CDROM to see if the contents are "corrupted" or not.

Re: Trudie - The Next IDE Board
Can't believe it's been a year since the last real update on this project! For those who have been living under a rock for the past couple of years, see this post https://www.exxosforum.co.uk/forum/viewt ... =81&t=3730
I'm looking at getting some 5V and 3.3V versions made in the new year (assuming parts shortages don't screw it up)
It will be version 5.4 where I re-wrote the firmware totally and adding more "under the hood" stuff for future use.
The 3.3V ones can use cheaper (ah-hem 3.3V parts) and will be cheaper to "reward" H5 builders. The 5V ones using, shockingly, 5V parts, more expensive, and be more expensive because we all hate original machines these days

Re: Trudie - The Next IDE Board
I hope to be getting back to this very soon. If anyone has a Beta Trudie and a Atmel programmer then you might be able to flash the later firmware.
I rewrote the firmware to use a clocked based state machine so Trudie can be switched into faster IDE access modes if running a CPU booster. Though faster modes haven't been tested yet, mostly as it would need the SEC booster.. But anyway, for a stock H5 its not going to matter about firmware anyway. But would help if people could test it.
I will soon open up a buyers interests topic for Trudie. I need to see if parts shortages are going to be a problem for the build or not yet.

Re: Trudie - The Next IDE Board
Working on this a little today. We jumped from Trudie V5.2 to 5.4. But now I am going back to V1.0 with the numbering as it will be a production run release.
Decided for the time being that it will be produced in 3.3Volt format only for the H5. As usual parts shortages are not helping but as there is no simple way to this into a classic machine anyway.. And I would need to do a second run for the 5V chips.. I don't think it's really worth the investment with so many hard drive solutions about anyway. I do have the original R1C updated boards which I got made years ago which I may *eventually* get around to producing kits for people who want to use that with original machines.
Again because of parts shortages I am having to change the buffers to a alternative package So rather a mess to untangle and tidy up.
I also have been tweaking various aspects of the circuit. I won't bore you with their trivial details.
I hope when my world settles down a little bit that I can look into getting a few of these produced. There probably will not be a great number because of shortages and the expense of putting things into production. Will probably get something line 20 made. I think that will be enough for a while anyway.
