Re: TF536 Bulk Order Batch 4 (exxos run)
Its the x16 bit that I was trying to emphasise. I. Presuming that the tf536 ram needs to be in banks 16 bit wide but the 1mb x 8 is in 8 bit banks, so wouldn't work?
There's lot of chips that are pin compatible but the internal memory is laid out differently and im presuming that makes them incompatible.
This is based on experience from amiga and atari ram chips which I know are smaller, ie 256k x 4bits etc.
If it ain't broke, test it to Destruction.

I have split this topic into its own thread as it drifted to far off topic.

That would be great, cause Micron RAMs are pretty expensiveterriblefire wrote: ↑Sun Jul 05, 2020 9:43 am Next time i actually build a board i'll try some of this stuff. Might be a while

The 030 CPU is 32 bit, which is why there are 2 RAM chips of 16 bit each.

Re: NEW BOM
@exxos yes I know which is why the x 8 bit ones won't work as they require 4 chips like in the TF534.

Thanks! I have corrected this now.richx wrote: ↑Sat Jul 04, 2020 3:45 pmOn row 8, the Digikey/Mouser part numbers are pointing to wrong 1Mx8 size memory.LADmachining wrote: ↑Wed Jul 01, 2020 4:43 pm I have re-formatted and combined the BoMs for TF534 and 536, and included Mouser, Digi-Key and RS stock codes.

W9825G6KH-6-ND seems to be the cheapest memory on Digikey.

Re: NEW BOM
Interesting that the Winbond chips are having issues, they're all 4M x 16 bits x 4 banks standard SDRAM, >100MHz. I guess there're some subtleties.
Anyone tried the Alliance or ISSI versions? Those are still almost half the price of the Microns, notably the AS4C16M16SA-6TCN (166MHz) and
IS42S16160J-7TLI (143MHz).

Re: NEW BOM
Guys,
Whatever chip you choose the price will double in a month. When I first specced the micron it was £2.50 a chip. They ramp up the price based on interest. They have algorithms specifically for this.
The micron is the only one with a verilog compact model. Hence it’s the only one I support

Only winbond W9825G6KH-5 200MHz don't want to work with TF536 card
