@exxos and @Icky
Just wondering with the H4, could I use the EmuTOS 256k image to boot? So far I have been using the 192k EmuTOS image. As the 256k version has more functionality than the 192k version, i was wondering if the H4 would work or is there the same limitation as original STF/FMs in decoding the TOS ROMs?

I like how you got the wire under the dma board. Were did your source the colour header and does anyone now I the 26 pin header has ground and plus 5 on the high pin numbers

Re: kodak80 H4 build (x2)
I used single-row header pins to do these. The yellow ones came with some STM32 boards I bought, and the blue ones, I purchased from a local Australian seller on eBay:

I have not tested or used the other 24 pin header. With the coloured 20 pin header, I have connected a SatanDisk the wrong way round a number of times and there was no damage caused to the SatanDisk.
Just to add some clarity, on H4 board number 3 we used a proper 20 pin socket and so we checked how the UltraSatan ribbon cable connected. The picture shows the orientation we used.

Re: kodak80 H4 build (x2)
Thank you that looks to be a good setup I'm working on getting a asci to scsi set up on my mega ste and will make a custom cable up for the 20pin header to 26pin for use on the adapter. The mega ste is a pain as it has 30pin header.

This is the asci to scsi pin out I'm working with to get to the 20 pin header on h4. The same cable should go through my ultrasatan adapter to the mega ste. I can back up my 44mb drive. And run a scsi dvd drive

There's no space in the memory map for 256k ... We are using the ST chip set so same limits on the H4.kodak80 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 01, 2020 3:10 am

@exxos , isn't the 2.06 address range decode cover $e00000-$e3ffff. That 256k so if the EmuTOS is assembled for a base address of $e00000 should it work?exxos wrote: ↑Sun Mar 01, 2020 5:27 amThere's no space in the memory map for 256k ... Re: kodak80 H4 build (x2)
I think exxos means that it needs external decode logic adding to address the 256k space from 0xE0000000...that's in the STE and some boosters but not natively in the original ST MMU etc.
