Project: HDMI/DVI out for STFM
Re: Project: HDMI/DVI out for STFM
Thanks @JezC, @alienkidmj12 and @PaulJ. I still need to finish building one of these up completely.
Re: Project: HDMI/DVI out for STFM
I have to say this looks awesome as well! So well designed. Would love to have one in my STFM as well!

*Bump*
Any news or updates on this awesome looking project?
My STacy is super jealous of derkom's and wants its own color screen.
(Well, I should say wants its own again, but I wasn't happy with the first
one I did years ago so removed it)
Thanks.

Re: Project: HDMI/DVI out for STFM
@Darklord unfortunately many things are slowing this and all our projects down.
Firstly about 5 of my prototypes are still at the assembly company which seems to have disappeared from all contact.
Secondly the world shortage of chips has especially hit the FPGA market and I currently can not get any new chips for this project as the lead time is 49 weeks.
Lastly I am still in the throes of moving house and this process has not been an easy one meaning a lot of my kit is packed away.
Positive side though is that I am able to when time permitting (which isn’t very often at all) work on the firmware to enable the internal register settings and audio integration.
It’s like all the projects @exxos and I are working on at the moment there isn’t the resources or time currently for theses. Life has got in the way. We were discussing the other day it’s more likely Christmas or the new year before we get back into the swing of things again.

Re: Project: HDMI/DVI out for STFM
@Smonson was close with a scandoubler, but I've not heard any progress for a while. @Icky is working on a nice shifter replacement , but time is not on our side lately and parts shortages are creating even more of a workload on myself lately.
But rest assured, when there is progress , people will be updated in the relevant posts.

About the scandoubler: my workbench is all temporarily packed up due to a huge garage clean-out. Life getting in the way as usual

Okay, thanks for the update.

Re: Project: HDMI/DVI out for STFM
Project is still stalled due to chip shortage and house move but whilst packing my test board away for its travels I realised I had not shown a picture of the latest board in situ on an H5.
An H4/5 doesn't need so many components if only using a Phoenix Shifter. There is a lack of 13pin monitor socket and DAC circuitry.
Phoenix Shifter in situ plugging into the shifter socket and one pin from the 13pin monitor socket at the front. The hole lines up with the VGA hole on the H4/5 to allow more permanent solid fixing although I have never needed that.
Hello HDMI Admittedly the board requires lower profile pins to lower the HDMI socket to dead centre but I had run out of my stock to test this board. Still connects fine though.

Re: Project: HDMI/DVI out for STFM
This is looking amazing.
I have ordered, and I think now will use on another ST the RGB2HDMI with the PIzero project. THis looks like it will be my HDMI solution for the H5, great work Icky, really looking forward to it.
If there is a list of pre-orders please put me on it!
