Nice work =D Looks really cool! If I stacked the 16Mhz CPU mod on this, would it work? (assuming it would still fit under the keyboard)

i've nearly finished building the adapter just have to get 2 68000 sockets but now looking at the st does one have to cut the long plastic pilaer to make it fit aas cant see any other way for it to go in.
i was looking at one of the amiga 500 cpu re-locators as it would shift the cpu over and may clear the pillar.

TOS.zip
(240.42 KiB) Downloaded 179 times
But its still 50:50 if it will work on your programmer as it might byteswap the file.

I uploaded a patched TOS 1.04 (Boot info and IDE patch) + TOS 2.06 image here: https://www.exxosforum.co.uk/forum/viewt ... =40#p38744

I used this with my TL866 II programmer for the V1.1 IDE interface and it runs just fine.

Like exxos has mentioned though, the byteswapping thing does depend on your programmer, which is why I bought some erasables to test with, as at £5-£10 a pop for the OTP chips, I'm not prepared to brick them any more because of the byteswapping uncertanty.

Once I have a set I know works, then and only then do I commit to OTP chips.

If ROM is working then it will still boot regardless of the IDE stuff... I assume you removed the old ROM's ? If so, you either have a bad ROM or bad connection somewhere.

no i didnt remove the other roms from the board.
does the ide work if the duel rom is removed and it has the original roms in, i mean would they system still boot as it should normally to gem desktop or does it need the dual tos rom in the socket?

i have set it up again this weekend and give it another try with the original roms removed

You cannot run ROM from the IDE board AND ROM from the motherboard, they will short eachother out which could damaged things, so that is likely why you cannot boot with both ROMs inserted.
