Its been talked about a lot in the past.. It would save space, but there would be nothing to really go there anyway ? Things like LAN would be under the PSU as that is where the main chips are.and more free space.

Just checking - at least one 9 pin serial port will still be included, right?

Thanks.

Nothing has changed on that. Still a normal 25 pin on the back. I was just sparking an idea.

Okay, thanks. I'd be good with either the 9 pin or 25 pin, just as long as there's a
serial port. :)

A theory - if you're running an FPGA MMU and shifter, then you may be able to increase the resolution/colour depth without faster RAM by widening the data path between the RAM and shifter from 16 to 32 data lines or even more.

Yeah that's been a goal mixed in with the 020 CPU.

And make everything 32-bit? Yeah, that would make it simpler, I guess!

Might as well go the whole hog and build a fully 32 bit machine from the ground up with a 68000 in there for game compatability. There seem to be lots of cheap QFP 68030s on Chinese web sites to throw in there. TT clone anyone? :D :lol:
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

I've locked this tread as it's got off-topic and giving the impression the H6 will be 32bit when we are a long way away from that.
