Because I'm curious, do you remember with what software and how your drive was partitioned?
I thought so too. I used HDDriver to partition. C: 500MB, D: EXT2 9GB, E: 20GB FAT32 F: 500MB G: 500MB H: 500MB or pretty close to it.
agranlund wrote: Tue Nov 24, 2020 4:18 pm That setup should make TOS206 able to boot from it, provided the drive was partitioned as a TOS-only drive with max 512MB(?) partitions or whatever the maximum size is for Atari TOS to be ok with it (HDDriver tells you in the partitioning program)
In fact, that INT wire shouldn't be required for Atari TOS if you're on the latest firmware, and not at all for EmuTOS as far as I'm aware, but it doesn't hurt either.
I'm not close to the STacy this very moment so I can't check exactly how it is but I've used this setup for months with the MonSTer and it's been compatible with TOS2.06, EmuTOS, and MagiC 6.20.

I have a firmware version from June/July when @PhilC built it, so I guess not having it is not an option, and clearly it won't work without it. But hey, suuper happy with it as it is.

Slight off-topic mention. I had an untested 68030RC50 lying around and put it in the TF. Still rock-solid and actually noticeably cooler

TOS 2.06 refuses to boot now. It's freezing on accessing the drive.
ACSI is working fine on my Stacy + TF536 + CosmosEx setup, but I am using a tweaked firmware on the TF that disables IDE. I don't know that this should have anything to do with your problems, but perhaps.

As for your 2.06 problems, I don't have a clue. Since you say it's freezing accessing the drive, it would seem your 256K decode is working fine. Do you mean that it's freezing when accessing the floppy drive right after POST?

Are you certain you have no shorts under the relocator board (if you're using it, that is)? I've had to stick some cardboard under mine, although given your stability in EmuTOS, it wouldn't seem likely this is the problem (although perhaps it could be the ACSI problem).

After a long journey including, PSU and mainboard recap, pullup address bus resistor replacement, 1772 databus fix, Blitter patch removal, I finally have my Mega ST up and running! I used the 192K Emutos boot ROMs. I want to thank PhilC for his TF536 build, agranlund and JezC for all the boot/EmuTos files! The only problem is I have tried all modded versions but floppy doesn't work for me too.

FYI I have fixed your photos and placed them inline as per these guidelines: https://www.exxosforum.co.uk/forum/viewt ... =20&t=2357
Please try to follow these going forward.

Otherwise, good job on the TF install. One quick question regarding the floppy, have you tried adding pullups to the WD1772 as per this post? https://www.exxosforum.co.uk/forum/viewt ... =17&t=1417

Otherwise my suggestion would be to check all of the pins at the 1772 are behaving as expected and the signals all reach the other chips they are supposed to and that the floppy is getting all of the signals it needs too. Be aware that some signals from the 1772 arrive at other chips via inverters so make sure you check at the destination chip as well as the 1772. The schematics show these inverters.

Sorry for the hassle!
Yes, this is the guide I followed. I had floppy read problems at some point, maybe after removing the blitter patch for some reason. Putting the resistor array on the problem was solved right away! I made sure I had a full working stable system before installing the booster. Thanks for the info but the floppy works just fine on Mint so I guess it has to do with the patched emutos version.

No worries, not a hassle :)

Good to hear it working and the fault appears to be Emutos :)

@trecool I can't take any credit - all I've done is post the files & my progress/lack of with the code from @agranlund.

I've only had success with the 0.9x builds & the floppy drive/Gotek with the T536...using the EmuTOS 1.0 file I've not been able to read anything off the floppy. I can't remember if I tried the standard EmuTOS 1.0 release files at any point so when I next get chance, I will try to boot that version from floppy.
Failing that, once I manage to finish off my H5 (or even H4 #2) then I might have a board with an operational ACSI port which I can then boot from hard drive & avoid the floppy problems completely (if they persist of course)!

Does your post re MINT mean that you have that working with the T536 fitted? If so, I'd be very interested to see how you set that up & give it a try myself!

I just used VanillaMint files. No luck with 0.9 build and working floppy here. Spending time TF and Mega was my wayout to my H5 build fail.

What's wrong with your H5?

I've had better luck with V1 EmuTOS but have to not run Maprom for the floppy to work.
If it ain't broke, test it to Destruction.
