Re: OJ's H5 A3 Troubleshooting
Glad it helped someone
Now, looking at the pinout, one should be able to use the original IC by swapping pin 4 and pin 5 and bringing power to pin 6. But not really sure it’s worth it unless one is in desperate needs to get it working without waiting for parts...

Forget what I said about swapping 4 and 5.

Re: OJ's H5 A3 Troubleshooting
Hi, This morning I took my H5 out of storage and discovered it didn't boot.
Plugging the Diag cart I manage to get a display which is normal at first then stays stuck on "Testing MFP, etc...." with artefacts on the screen
Here is a short video :
(BTW, I didn't find how to attach videos directly).
I suspect the MFP as I've always had issues with the MFP on the H5 and I'll start the usual troubleshooting but if someone has a clue or seen this before it can save me a lot of continuity testing...

Re: OJ's H5 A3 Troubleshooting
I checked continuity on all MFP pins but didn't find any issue.
I tried in Mono mode (changing JP4) and instead of being stuck on Testing MFP I immediately get E7 Spurious Interupts.
Booting without diag cart,in Mono gives me many bombs and in colour mode I have a black screen with frequency changing between 50 and 70 hz continuously

Re: OJ's H5 A3 Troubleshooting
@olivier.jan try serial and see if you get any further info. Does sound like a poor connection on a chip
If it ain't broke, test it to Destruction.
Re: OJ's H5 A3 Troubleshooting
You can't, not really. Inlining YouTube or Vimeo as you've done is the right thing to do.

Re: OJ's H5 A3 Troubleshooting
I'd second this suggestion, diag cart and serial out, it may show that the machine is running and has a video fault, or may highlight something else.
