Post by terriblefire »

What a MSeXy looking machine!
Have you had a look at the HIC-1 daughter board caps? Supposed to be prone to leaking.
Transformer swap is the easiest thing to do?

Does it use an internal or external PSU?

Hmm... MSX2... with a "Turbo" mode.
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

Let's hope that the transtormer has multiple taps on the windings.

Another nice addition to the computer collection. Just an HX-10 here in my MSX collection so far but was looking at one of those last night.
If it ain't broke, test it to Destruction.

In all my travels, I once managed to pick up an MSX joystick as part of a retro computer joblot bundle...which I have kept to this day.

However, actually owning that made me curious about the MSX machines. I still havent picked one up (have had a bid on a few here and there over the years), but from what I can remember, the Video processor on the later models got to be quite brilliant for an 8-bit machine. (I guess like a sort of 8 bit X68000!)
